Back when Glenfarclas 105 was introduced in 1968, it was the first cask strength single malt on the market. A 60% ABV (105 proof in the old British system) whisky was revolutionary, standing in stark contrast to the standard 40% ABV. Glenfarclas 105 typically carries no age statement—the Glenfarclas 20 Years Old 105 Cask Strength is a rare exception. This limited-edition bottling aged for two decades and was released in 2012. The single malt is rich and powerful with sherried notes of Demerara sugar, figs, Christmas cake, chocolate-covered coffee beans and brandy.
