Oddero Langhe Nebbiolo 2012
Oddero Langhe Nebbiolo 2012
The 2012 Oddero Langhe Nebbiolo is a beautifully resolved example of Nebbiolo outside the stricter Barolo framework, offering both varietal clarity and early approachability. With over a decade of bottle age, this wine now sits firmly in its secondary phase, revealing complexity without losing its essential freshness.
In the glass, it shows a translucent garnet hue with brick-tinged edges. Aromatically, it is expressive and nuanced: dried cherry, rose petal and cranberry sit alongside savoury notes of leather, anise, dried herbs and subtle earth. There is a gentle tarry undertone, unmistakably Nebbiolo, but softened and integrated by time.
On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and finely structured. Tannins, once firm, have melted into a silky, resolved framework, allowing flavours of sour cherry, red plum and tea leaf to flow with ease. Acidity remains lively, giving the wine lift and length through a savoury, gently spiced finish.
This is Langhe Nebbiolo at its most charming ,refined, expressive and ready to drink.
